ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

The environment is one of the greatest values held by the development model advocated by NAIDER and an essential part of the process of moving toward sustainability.  Our society is facing the challenge of combining a high living standard with the protection of our own environment both at a local level (clean soil and air, the preservation of natural resources or a rich biodiversity, among others) and at a global level (gas emissions and the greenhouse effect, discharges into the ocean, etc.).

To face that challenge, the Public Administration, and also other socio-economic agents, must develop all their creativity and capacity to introduce fundamental changes in their functioning.  Those changes must permit not only the combination of desired economic and social advances with a more nurtured environment, but also the exaltation of the value of the environment, and the acquisition of the commitment necessary to make public administration an engine for our society.
